Ben was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. His wonderful parents served as a pastor and a school teacher. They lived together in the same old farmhouse with his grandparents. Ben likes to say that with two sets of parents, he got two sets of whippings, which helped him stay in line! Growing up on this small farm with his family, Ben learned the value of hard work, sacrifice, discipline, and putting his hands in service to others. These traits are the foundation of his work today with Life Compass Financial Services.
His journey as a financial advisor started in 1986. After serving as a stockbroker and financial advisor in the corporate setting for 19 years, Ben realized this product-centered corporate world was not for him. Founding Life Compass Financial in 2005 has allowed him to always put the client’s needs front and center, always acting in the client’s best interest. We like to say that we are different, on purpose. Ben is passionate about our team’s holistic approach of caring for and serving clients.
Ben and his wife Jennifer live in Bowling Green (18 houses away from two of their five grandchildren). He enjoys spending time at the lake with family and friends, kayaking, fishing, occasionally playing golf, and reading (his mother would certainly be proud of the reading part!).
Ben is a proud father of three children and five grandchildren. He is also a proud Bowling Green High School Purple and Western Kentucky University Hilltopper. As mentioned before, Ben has a passion for community service and has served in positions with numerous community organizations including being a past board member of the Bowling Green Independent Schools, Bowling Green-Warren County Community Education, Gordon Ford College of Business Advisory Board, and the Kentucky Library and Museum Advisory Board. Presently, he is an active member and past president of the Bowling Green Rotary Club, and is a member and secretary of XV Literary Club (the oldest literary club in Kentucky, founded in 1879).
Raymond James is not affiliated with the above organizations and/or charitable causes.
